About Us

Follow a mile-long drive down a gravel lane and you will find the Farm of Peace; 150 acres nestled between other farms, state game-lands, and the stunning foot hills of the nearby Allegheny Mountains of south-central Pennsylvania. A two-hour drive from Washington, D.C., Baltimore or Pittsburgh, the Farm of Peace features a retreat and healing center, a working farm and a spiritual community.

Programs include Sufi spiritual retreats and personal growth workshops throughout the year.

Private site rentals bring participants into contact with beautiful woodlands and stunning vistas during any season. Those seeking to enjoy a few days in the country are welcome here, too, through our farm vacation program, a wonderful opportunity to allow entire families to experience a slower pace.

We welcome visitors from all over the world to experience the beauty and peace we have found here.

Our Animals

The Farm of Peace is home to a small flock of Heritage breed Tunis sheep.

We have two rams and about a dozen Tunis ewes, who usually lamb in the spring. The lambs are born reddish brown and develop white wool as they grow up. We raise our sheep mostly for meat, but they do also produce wool.

The adopt-a-sheep program, started for the 2023 year, is an exciting way for beloveds near and far to support the farm by helping to cover the costs of raising sheep.

The sheep love to have visitors but please don’t enter livestock enclosures without a staff member.

Our Animals

Several of our families keep small flocks of free-range chickens and ducks who give us fresh eggs in a variety of colors and occasionally meat.

Friendly farm cats love to be petted and will often follow along on walks (when they’re not napping).

No pets are permitted inside the retreat center, only trained service animals, out of respect for people who have allergies.

Visiting dogs must be kept on a leash for their safety and for the safety of our livestock.

Sometimes we have poultry, depending on the season.
